The Great Debate – Sit Down Vs Canape

It’s a question that almost every couple has when planning their wedding – should we have a sit down or canapé style wedding? Nowadays we are spoilt for choice when choosing how we wine and dine on our big day.  Here are a few of our favourite ways to celebrate your wedding reception.

Cocktail

Cocktail weddings are great if you are looking for something a little less informal, as guests are able to make their way around and mingle during the night. Just remember to assign some seating for some of the older guests at your big day – and those wearing heels! Some of our favourite canape options are chicken yakitori & sesame skewers, king salmon crispy tacos and soft shell crab sliders.

Sit down

If cocktail isn’t your style a sit down celebration is a great option, this style of wedding also gives you enough structure to plan for activities like your first dance or speeches.

Feasting

The great thing about a feast option is the flexibility that it offers as guests are allowed to choose exactly what they want to eat and how much of it. We offer two different feasting options that you can choose from perfectly suited to what you like and the style of your celebration. Feast over slow cooked robata chicken, whole roasted and charred pumpkin or lamb shoulder.

Alternate Drop

Keep it classic with a choice of alternate serve menus. We love King Salmon Carpaccio and poached King Prawns and finish off with dark chocolate fondant and vanilla panna cotta.

Experience Stations

If you’re looking to make a statement and do something a little bit different and experience station might be up your alley for the big day. Personalise your day by adding a little extra to the celebration. From fresh sushi in all its glory, to a curated cheese station with all your favs.
